The Division 2’s first episode launching this month
Ubisoft has confirmed that The Division 2’s first free episode, D.C. Outskirts: Expedition, will arrive on July 23rd for Year 1 Pass holders and July 30th for everyone else.
This first episode picks up the story after the final boss of Tidal Basin and sees players heading out into the outskirts of Washington D.C. to take on two main missions and a new game mode called Expedition.
The first of these two missions, Camp White Oak, sees players attacking the presidential compound to bring down President Andrew Ellis. While the second mission, Manning National Zoo, tasks players with taking out Emeline Shaw.
As mentioned above, Episode 1 also brings with it a new gameplay experience called Expeditions, in which players will hunt down surviving members of a military convoy who are lost in Kenly College. Expeditions are split into three wings, with a new wing being opened up each week. Completing all three wings grants access to a treasure room full of rewards.
Other new content in the episode includes a new exotic weapon, a new piece of exotic gear, two new weapons, and two Classified Assignments.
Ubisoft also revealed that a new update will be released alongside Episode 1 that introduces a new Discovery Difficulty for the Operation Dark Hours raid that has matchmaking, crafting improvements, and skill buffs.
The Division 2 is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
