The Division 2 roadmap reveals Codename: Nightmare event

Ubisoft has outlined its future plans for The Division 2 with the release of its latest roadmap.

The roadmap begins on September 22nd with the release of Season 3 and the previously announced new game mode, The Summit.

Season 3 will see players attempting to hunt down and take out Bardon Schaeffer, the leader of the Black Tusk. Players will need to first dispatch his four newly recruited rogue agents to find out where he is and what he is plotting. Season 3’s rewards include a new skill variant, exotics, a new gear set, outfits, cosmetic items, and more.

While The Summit is a new PvE mode that features 100 floors of enemies and objectives to complete that will put players against all of the factions in the game. Mastering all 100 floors will grant players unique rewards, including a new exotic. The Summit is open to players who have completed the Warlords of New York campaign and reached level 40.

Following Season 3 and The Summit will be the game’s fourth season. Season 4 arrives alongside Title Update 12 and introduces Faye Lou as a new Prime Target. Lau has turned against The Division and its up to players to stop her plans.

The final part of the roadmap is something called Codename: Nightmare. This limited-time special event will launch this winter and takes place in the halls and classrooms of Kenly College. According to Ubisoft, it will provide “a unique gameplay experience.” More information will be shared in the coming months.

Finally, Ubisoft revealed that The Division 2 will be playable on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility when the consoles launch. The game will also support cross-generational gameplay.
