Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris delayed
Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris has had its release date pushed back, publisher Bandai Namco has announced.
The game has been delayed by several weeks from its original release date of May 22nd to July 10th. According to executive producer Yosuke Futami, Alicization Lycoris has been delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and “to ensure that Sword Art Online fans are delivered the best Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris experience.”
“We have been working hard on Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris for our fans who are looking forward to the next Sword Art Online title,” Futami’s full statement reads. “Due to the ongoing world events, we have made the difficult decision to move the release date of Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris to July 10, 2020. We believe that this is the best way to ensure that Sword Art Online fans are delivered the best Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris experience.”
This upcoming entry follows the events of the Sword Art Online Alicization anime. Main protagonist Kirito finds himself in a mysterious virtual world called Underworld, in which the AI behave like humans. Players will get to play through scenes from the anime series and encounter a number of fan-favorite characters, including Eugeo, Alice, Administrator, and more.
Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris launches July 10th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
