Summer Games Done Quick 2022 will be an in-person event

Games Done Quick has revealed that its next speedrunning marathon, Summer Games Done Quick 2022, will be returning to in-person after being online-only for the past couple of years.

This year’s event will be held in Bloomington, MN, from June 26th through July 3rd. Attendees will require “full COVID-19 vaccinations (with proof), as well as KN95/N95 masks,” according to the organizer. In addition, the attendance cap will be reduced and social distancing will be practiced in all event spaces.

“Some on-site areas will not be returning this summer, such as the panels and board game room, as they are not currently feasible with our COVID-19 policies,” GDC added. “Others, such as the arcade, may be more limited in scope.”

Game submissions are set to open today, March 21st, with attendee registration and hotel bookings opening on April 18th. Summer Games Done Quick 2022 will be raising money for Doctors Without Borders.

Back in January, Awesome Games Done Quick 2022 managed to raise $3,416,729 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
