Steam just set a new concurrent player record
Steam managed to break its all-time highest concurrent players record over the weekend when more than 18.8 million people were using the platform.
On Sunday, February 2nd, 18,801,944 players were using Steam, according to SteamDB (via PC Gamer). This beat the previous record of 18,537,490 concurrent players that was set back in January 2018.
However, as SteamDB pointed out, even though there were 300,000 more people on Steam, the number of players actually in a game was down. According to the site, only 5.8 million were in a game on Sunday compared to 7 million back in January 2018.
