Sony files trademarks for PS6, 7, 8, 9, and 10
Sony Interactive Entertainment has filed trademarks in Japan (via Gematsu) for the next five generations of PlayStation.
The trademarks have been filed for “PS6,” “PS7,” “PS8,” “PS9,” and “PS10.” Of course, this is in no way a confirmation that there will be five more PlayStation consoles. This is simply Sony securing those names to protect their brand.
Sony’s next console will be the PlayStation 5. As previously announced, the upcoming next-gen console features an SSD, a more powerful CPU and GPU, support for ray tracing, and an updated controller with new features.
PlayStation 5 is scheduled to launch in holiday 2020.
