Sniper Elite 5 trailer puts weapons in the spotlight
The latest trailer for Sniper Elite 5 focuses on the game’s authentic World War II weaponry.
According to developer Rebellion, players will have access to more than 200 customization and attachment options in the upcoming game, including scopes, suppressors, stocks, muzzle breaks, materials, and more. These attachments will affect a weapon in Power, Rate of Fire, Control, and Mobility, and can be unlocked by finding workbenches within each of the game’s levels.
“Sniper Elite has always been defined by its authentic gunplay and we wanted to take that to the next level for Sniper Elite 5,” Jason Kingsley, CEO of Rebellion, said. “We have concentrated on enhancing the character and feel of our weapons, including the addition of an ‘Ironsights’ perspective for pistols and secondary weapons such as SMGs.
“Having conducted thousands of hours of playtests over the course of the franchise, it is clear that everyone plays the game in their own, unique way. That is why we have developed the new Weapon Customisation system, allowing players to adapt their weapons to best suit the way they play and ensure that everyone enjoys the experience.”
This latest entry in the series tasks elite marksman Karl Fairburne with putting a stop to a Nazi plot known as Operation Kraken that could turn the tide of the Second World War.
Sniper Elite 5 launches May 26th for PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will also be available through Xbox Game Pass from launch.
