Sea of Thieves Season One begins next week
Rare has revealed that Sea of Thieves’ previously announced move to a seasonal update schedule will begin on January 28th with the release of Season One.
Each season will last approximately three months and deliver players a new piece of content or a new way to play, as well as live events, new rewards, Emporium updates, and quality of life improvements. Season One’s new content is a Merchant Alliance Voyage that requires players to piece together clues and locate a lost shipment.
In addition to the new Voyage, Season One brings with it a new progression system for players. During each season, players will have to work their way through 100 levels of rewards by earning Renown. These rewards include new pirate and ship cosmetics, plus some exclusives for pirate legends.
Players can also purchase an optional premium Plunder Pass each season that grants access to unique rewards and exclusives from the Emporium.
Sea of Thieves is available now on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
