Sea of Thieves Season 2 improves the Merchant Alliance, adds Forts of Fortune
The Season 2 update for Sea of Thieves is now live on Xbox and PC.
To start with, Season 2 brings with it some improvements for the Merchant Alliance. Going forward, players will be able to purchase crates of food, cannonballs, and planks from the Merchant Alliance representative at outposts. Emissaries can also purchase Commodity Crates at outposts that can be taken to other outposts where the resource is in demand to earn a nice profit.
Another new feature in Season 2 is the new Fort of Fortune. When players spot a scared Skull Cloud rising above the clouds, they will be able to take on this new, more challenging skeleton fort. Battle against waves of skeletons to obtain a high-level haul that contains guaranteed Athena’s treasures.
There are also new events to take part in throughout the season, 100 new seasonal levels to progress through, and new rewards from each Emissary.
Finally, a new season means a new Plunder Pass to purchase. This season’s pass contains the Black Phoenix Figurehead, Sails and Flag, as well as the new Popcorn and Backflip emotes.
Sea of Thieves is available now on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
