Rocket League update adds cross-platform progression
Psyonix has released a new update for Rocket League that brings cross-platform progression to the game on all platforms.
Following the update, players will be able to link their accounts on different platforms together via an Epic Games Account. After selecting a Primary Platform, progression, inventory, Rocket Pass progression, rank, and more will be available on all platforms. As previously announced, players who link their account will receive the Chopper EG Wheels for free.
Additionally, this update replaces the RocketID system with Epic Friends, which allows players to party up with people not on their platform. The in-game friends list has also been updated to now show platform friends and Epic Friends on the same screen.
All players who play Rocket League before the switch to free-to-play on September 23rd will receive Legacy Status. Players with Legacy Status receive “Legacy” versions of every common item, access to all non-licensed DLC items, and the following bonus items: Faded Cosmos Boost (limited to accounts created prior to July 21st), Golden Cosmos Boost, Dieci-Oro Wheel, Huntress Player Banner, and Est. 20XX Title.
Other changes include the removal of the Nintendo Switch Online requirement for multiplayer, a new streamlined menu, item changes, a new Merc hitbox, and more. Read the full patch notes here.
Rocket League is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
