PUBG: Battlegrounds update includes new weapons and chickens
Update: PUBG: Battlegrounds players on PC now have access to the Mortar and M79 Smoke Grenade following the release of Update 14.2.
Original Story: PUBG: Battlegrounds‘ next major update comes to PC on November 3rd and consoles on November 11th, developer Krafton has announced.
The update brings with it two new weapons: the Mortar and M79 Smoke Grenade Launcher. The former is exclusive to Taego and requires players to set it up and then take the time to calculate distance and the movement of the target before firing. While the latter takes up the pistol slot and allows players to fire up to five shells that cover the battlefield in smoke.
Also on the way is a new option for players in the Down But Not Out (DBNO) stage: swimming. Instead of instantly dying, players can now swim through water to safety. However, players doing this will be slow and cannot be revived while in the water.
Finally, chickens are heading to the game in 14.2. These animals are easily spooked and will give away player positions if frightened, so be careful. Read the full patch notes here.
