PSO2: New Genesis’ April update includes a level cap increase, new Photon Arts, more
During its latest Headline broadcast for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, Sega revealed its plans for the game during March and April.
Starting with this month’s content, the Spring ’22 event will get underway on March 9th. During the event, players can complete tasks and defeat enemies to collect seasonal points and then exchange them for a new series of light weapons, cosmetics, Augment Capsules, and more. There will also be a special limited-time Urgent Quest, titled Flurry of Flowers Clean Up Op, in which players must fight Alters and Formers in West Aelio. This Urgent Quest can also be tackled at any time by using triggers.
The second half of March includes new SG Scratch Ticket items and the second part of the Spring ’22 event, which features new quests and rewards.
Then, on April 6th, a big update is planned that will increase the level cap to 45 and introduce new Photon Arts and Compound Techniques for the game’s classes. Additionally, Rank 3 versions of Retem Combat Sectors will be added alongside a Rank 2 version of Retem’s Purple Battledia. These Rank 3 Combat Sectors have a chance to spawn a second PSE Burst after completing one known as a PSE Burst Encore.
Finally, the April 6th update bumps Gigantix enemies up to level 49, adds a new five-star weapon series, and introduces Equalizing enemies.
