Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake delayed

Ubisoft has announced that its upcoming remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will no longer launch in January as planned. Instead, the game will now arrive on March 18th, 2021.

In a statement posted to the franchise’s Twitter account, the development team at Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai seemed to attribute the delay to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are excited to put this game in your hands, as we retell the story of the Prince and Farah in a reimagined 11th century Persia. However, 2020 has been a year like no other. Today we wanted to let you know that we are taking additional time to work on the game,” the statement reads in part.

Ubisoft announced The Sands of Time Remake during an Ubisoft Forward event back in September. In addition to updated graphics, the remake will also modernize the control and feature new voice performances.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake now launches March 18th, 2021 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store.
