Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Crown Tundra DLC gets a release date
Nintendo has confirmed that Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield’s second DLC, The Crown Tundra, will release on October 22nd.
“Early in your adventures here, a man named Peony will appoint you as the leader of his exploration team in the Crown Tundra,” a post on the official Pokemon site explains. “You’ll be tasked with investigating the reaches of this frozen land—including the depths of a Pokémon Den, something you’ve so far been able to glimpse only during Max Raid Battles!”
In addition to a new area and story, the expansion will bring back a number of legendary Pokémon and introduce Dynamax Adventures. In Dynamax Adventures, up to four players will team up to explore caves filled with wild Dynamax Pokémon.
Another new feature is the Galarian Star Tournament, in which players will team up with trainers from around the Galar region and battle to be the best in this doubles tournament.
Finally, players will be able to get their hands on eight versions of Ash’s Pikachu for Sword and Shield via special passwords. The first password revealed is “P1KACHUGET” and will be live until November 30th.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are available now on Nintendo Switch.
