Pokémon Sword and Shield Pikachu Max Raid Battle event begins
The Pokémon Company has announced a special Pikachu Mass Appearance event for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.
From now until August 16th, players will be more likely to encounter Pichu, Pikachu, Raichu, and Alolan Raichu in Max Raid Battles. There’s also a small chance to encounter a Shiny Pikachu.
“To challenge these Pokémon in a Max Raid Battle, you’ll need to connect your Nintendo Switch system to the internet,” a message on the official Pokémon website explains. “Then, whenever you see a pillar of light shining from a Pokémon Den in the Wild Area, you can walk up to the Pokémon Den and interact with it to start a Max Raid Battle with a Dynamax Pokémon. During this event, Pikachu are more likely to appear as Gigantamax Pokémon, so keep checking dens.”
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are available now on Nintendo Switch.
