PlayStation Plus games for May announced
Sony continues to deliver the goods with its PlayStation Plus games in May.
PlayStation 5 owners with a PS Plus subscription can download Wreckfest: Die Hard, Drive Last for free starting on May 4th. Although the PlayStation 5 version of the game was scheduled to launch on June 1st, it appears that PS Plus subscribers can claim their copy early. Wreckfest on PS5 will run at 60 frames per second in 4K and features online multiplayer with up to 24 players.
PlayStation 4 owners aren’t being left in the dust, however. They’re getting two games in May, the first of which is Stranded Deep. This survival game pits you against the dangers of the Pacific Ocean after a crash landing strands you on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere. You can explore underwater and on land, though you will want to be wary of the natural predators that live in the deeps.
The last PS Plus game available in May is Battlefield V, and the timing for this one is pretty interesting. Rumors and expectations point to the next game in the Battlefield series getting a reveal in early May, ahead of publisher EA’s next investors call on May 11th. It could be that DICE and EA are trying to generate some hype for the next game by letting PS Plus subscribers play the most recent one.
PS5 owners can also download Stranded Deep and Battlefield V with a PS Plus account.
If you haven’t downloaded April’s PS Plus games yet, you still have until May 3rd to do so. They include Oddworld: Soulstorm for PS5 owners, and Days Gone and Zombie Army 4: Dead War for PS4 and PS5 owners.
