PlayStation 4 system software update 8.01 is now available
A new system software update is now available to download for PlayStation 4 that takes the console up to version 8.01.
Don’t get too excited though, as this latest update simply “improves system performance,” according to the single patch note. The update is about 476 MB in size and should begin downloading the next time the console is connected to the internet.
The last major PlayStation 4 update, version 8.00, released last month and introduced the option to mute all microphones from the Quick Menu and new Avatars based on Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, and more. Additionally, changes were made to the Party and Messages apps, as well as a rework of trophy levels.
