PlayStation 4 system software update 7.01 now available
Sony has pushed a new system software update live for PlayStation 4 that takes the console up to version 7.01.
Players hoping for some new features just before the festive period will be disappointed, as this is one of those stability updates. According to the single patch note, today’s update “improves system performance.”
Update 7.01 is 447.9 MB in size and is mandatory, so it must be downloaded and installed to access online features.
The last major update for the PlayStation 4, update 7.00, went live in October and introduced 16-player parties, audio quality improvements, and a chat transcription feature.
