PlayStation 4 system software update 7.00 arriving this week
Sony has confirmed that the next major PlayStation 4 system software update will be going live later this week.
The main highlight of the upcoming update is the improvements to parties, with an increase in the maximum party members to 16, audio quality improvements, and improved network connectivity. In addition, PlayStation 4 owners in the U.S. will be able to use a new Chat Transcription feature via the Party App.
“The new feature supports US English and converts party voice chat to text, or enables you to enter text that is read aloud to other party members,” Sony explains. “If using your mobile device to connect to your PS4 during a Party, you will now see a new Party tab has been added where the new functionality is available.”
As well as the party improvements, following this week’s update, Remote Play will be available on smartphones and tablets running Android 5.0 or higher via the PS4 Remote Play App.
