Phil Spencer confirms that Xbox will be attending E3 2020
Following the announcement that Sony is pulling out of E3 for a second year, head of Xbox Phil Spencer has confirmed that Xbox will be present at the event.
In a tweet, Spencer said that the team “is hard at work on E3” and that 2020 will be “a milestone year” for Xbox.
It’s worth noting that while Microsoft will be in Los Angeles for E3 it will not be on the show floor. Instead of having a booth on the floor, the platform holder has chosen to host its own standalone event outside of the convention center for the last couple of years.
Microsoft will presumably use this year’s E3 to share further details about the Xbox Series X and the games that will be available for it at launch. The console was officially unveiled last month and features an AMD processor based on the Zen 2 architecture an SSD, and is capable of delivering up to 8K resolution and 120 FPS.
As mentioned above, Sony recently announced that it is once again skipping E3, as the company does not feel that “the vision of E3 2020 is the right venue” for what it has planned this year.
