New Nioh 2 update brings photo mode, new missions, DLC news
If you’re looking for a reason to jump back into Nioh 2, or simply play for the first time, then a new update to the game may just be what you need.
The biggest new addition that’s come to Nioh’s second chapter is Photo Mode. Not that I really need to explain at this point what a video game photo mode is, but this addition will offer players some in-depth options for capturing those perfect memories of their custom fighters as they struggle against ancient Japan’s vicious yokai. (Boy, I wish I’d had this back when I was getting screenshots for my Nioh 2 review.)
Along with Photo Mode, Nioh 2 has now gained a number of additional sub-missions and Twilight missions as part of the update.
“This is all a small part of our larger commitment to provide you guys with the most engaging gaming experience for Nioh 2,” writes Team Ninja creative director Tom Lee in today’s PlayStation Blog update. “And in our efforts to fulfill that commitment, we will vigorously pay close attention to your feedback and continue to provide updates when we are able. This is our promise to you.”
Along with what we’re getting today, Lee also talks about “three sizable & badass DLC batches” that will be coming to Nioh 2 in the next several months. According to Lee, there will be “new storylines, new yokai, ferocious new bosses, Guardian Spirits, new skills, fresh armor and a new weapon that alters the performance of skills outside of set stances.” In addition to that, we’ll also be getting new difficulty levels, end-game content, and more.
