Neverwinter’s new Bard class arrives with Jewel of the North
Publisher Perfect World Entertainment and developer Cryptic Studios have delivered the Jewel of the North update for free-to-play MMORPG Neverwinter on PC.
The highlight of the update is the introduction of the Bard class. This is the first new class added to the game since 2016 and is inspired by the Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition class archetype. The Bard can weave magic into their sword and also has access to a Perform Mode, which allows players to play a variety of songs that can enhance and heal allies or hurt enemies.
Jewel of the North also streamlines the game’s leveling system by squishing the max level cap down from 80 to 20 and introduces a milestone leveling system, instead of an XP-based one. Players already at the cap will still have the same stats and power. It should take new players around 10-12 hours to reach the max level, according to developer Cryptic.
Neverwinter: Jewel of the North is available now on PC, with a console release set for late August.
