Motive has no plans to add more content to Star Wars Squadrons
Star Wars Squadrons developer Motive Studios has confirmed that it currently has no plans to add more content to the game.
In a recent interview with Upload VR, creative director Ian Frazier said that the team is “not trying to treat the game as a live service” and that “this is the game.” However, he also said to “never say never.”
“Never say never, so to speak, but as far as our philosophy goes we’re not trying to treat the game as a live service. We don’t want to say, ‘It’s almost done!’ and then dribble out more of it over time, which to be honest is how most games work these days,” Frazier explained. “So we’ve tried to treat it in kind of an old-school approach saying, ‘You’ve paid the $40, this is the game and it’s entirely self-contained. We’re not planning to add more content, this is the game, and we hope you understand the value proposition.'”
The game launched last week and sees two teams of five players going head to head in multiplayer dogfights. There’s also a single-player campaign that follows two pilots from either side of the conflict.
Star Wars Squadrons is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
