MLB The Show 21 celebrates All-Star game with live digital content

The 2021 MLB All-Star Game is happening tonight, July 13th, and MLB The Show 21 developer Sony San Diego is working on live digital content to celebrate the occasion.

Specifically, the live content team is creating a new Team Affinity Program that features 2021 All-Stars, with two packs for the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game players. Players who have “the most outstanding performance during the All-Star festivities” will “possibly be included in the special All-Star Game Pack,” the developer said in a blog post.

We already know that Pete Alosno went back-to-back with a win at this year’s Derby, but it will be interesting to see who shines at the All-Star game tonight. According to the blog post, Sony San Diego’s “Live Content Team will be watching both the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game and will be workign to get all this amazing content released throughout the festivities.” Players can earn this content through Moments, Missions, and Showdown online.

If you haven’t picked up MLB The Show 21 yet (or played it on Xbox Game Pass), the game is on sale through July 14th.
