Mass Effect Legendary Edition looks poised to join Xbox Game Pass
A leak suggests Mass Effect Legendary Edition will soon join the Xbox Game Pass library—and the source is Microsoft itself.
As spotted by the Polish site XGP (via VGC), the Xbox Poland site briefly listed the remastered trilogy with a Game Pass badge. Though the listing has now changed, it’s certainly an odd mistake to make if no announcement is on the way.
If the Legendary Edition is indeed joining the Game Pass library, there’s still one big question to answer. Will it come to the service as part of the EA Play catalog—which has been included for Game Pass Ultimate members since late last year—or will it be available to even standard-tier Game Pass subscribers?
Still, if you’re only on the standard Game Pass subscription plan, there’s not much reason to stay there. In addition to offering additional benefits like EA Play, the Ultimate tier bundles together Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold for a subscription that’s less than buying each separately. Just saying.
If you missed out on its launch earlier this year, Mass Effect Legendary Edition brings back all three games in the Commander Shepard trilogy, along with nearly all of their DLC, with update graphics and gameplay refinements.
A new Mass Effect, apparently with close story ties to those first three games, is currently in the works at BioWare.
