It Takes Two wins Game of the Year at The Game Awards—see all the winners here
Co-op platformer It Takes Two won the top prize at The Game Awards 2021, with director Josef Fares delivering a comparatively muted speech. (He only said the f-word twice!)
It Takes Two also took the statues for Best Multiplayer Game and Best Family Game. Its three awards tied with Forza Horizon 5 for the most of the night, while Deathloop and Kena: Bridge of Spirits earned a pair of awards each.
If anything, the Game of the Year prize represented the biggest upset of the night, with Hazelight’s comparatively smaller game beating out heavier hitters like Deathloop, Resident Evil Village, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. You’d be hard-pressed to find a bigger surprise among the other categories, but you’re welcome to look. Below, you’ll find a list of every nominee in every category, with the eventual winners marked in bold.
