Insomniac clarifies that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a ‘standalone game’
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a “standalone game,” according to the studio that’s making it.
After it debuted during yesterday’s PlayStation 5 “Future of Gaming” stream, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales raised a lot of questions, mainly about whether it was a full-on sequel, an expansion, or something else. What it is is “something else.”
In a follow-up tweet, Insomniac Games called Miles Morales “the next adventure in the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe” and a “standalone game” for the PlayStation 5. In other words, it’s basically the Uncharted Lost Legacy and The Last of Us: Behind for the Marvel’s Spider-Man series.
It looks like Miles’ adventure will take place in an updated version of the Manhattan that was in the first Spider-Man, albeit during what appears to be the holiday season. As for how the gameplay will be different, we did see a brief glimpse of Miles taking advantage of his powers of invisibility in yesterday’s trailer.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is launching for PlayStation 5 this holiday season.
