God of War Ragnarök gets a godly new story trailer, limited edition DualSense controller
God of War Ragnarök got a new trailer to close out Sony’s latest State of Play livestream, and it’s a doozy.
Despite Sony labeling this a story trailer, it doesn’t actually provide a ton of detail. We’re guessing Sony wants to keep specifics well under wraps until the game is finally out, so pretty much all we get here is what we already knew—Kratos and Atreus are trying to avert the apocalyptic prophecy they discovered at the end of the last game.
Still, the three minutes of new footage does a lot to showcase the sheer breadth of what Kratos and Atreus will encounter during the game. A fight against the Valkyries on some kind of astral plane? Check. Kratos teaming up with the Norse god of war, Tyr? Check. A really big jellyfish, for some reason? Check. Atreus firing an arrow to send a wolf flaming like a meteor to rip the sky in two? Check. Richard Schiff absolutely slaying it as the voice of Odin? The biggest doggone checkmark you’ve ever seen.
Seriously, watch this trailer and tell me you’re not excited.
Sony accompanied this new trailer with another Ragnarök announcement: a new limited-edition DualSense controller for PlayStation 5. It’s white and blue, and it has wolves on the touchpad.
Here’s a trailer for it, if you’re into that sort of thing.
God of War Ragnarök launches on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on November 9th. The controller will be available on the same day.
