Gigantamax Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise arrive in Sword and Shield Max Raid Battles
To celebrate the upcoming Pokémon Day, Gigantamax forms of the three original starter Pokémon’s evolutions are appearing in Max Raid Battles for a limited time.
From now until February 27th, Gigantamax Venusaur, Gigantamax Charizard, and Gigantamax Blastoise will all be appearing. Players who manage to catch or defeat these powerful Pokémon will be rewarded with a Max Mushroom.
Before taking on these Pokémon, players will need to connect to the internet, select Mystery Gift from the main menu, and then choose “Get the Wild Area News.” Once this is done, head to the Wild Area and look for a purple beam coming out of a Pokémon Den.
“Usually, there’ll be an extremely small possibility a Gigantamax Pokémon will appear instead of a Dynamax Pokémon, but during an event, certain Gigantamax Pokémon are more likely to appear,” The Pokemon Company adds. “This event does not affect the Pokémon encountered within Dynamax Adventures.”
Pokémon Sword and Pokemon Shield are available now on Nintendo Switch.
