Free next-gen upgrade announced for Planet Coaster: Console Edition
Frontier Developments is offering a free next-generation upgrade for the Console Edition of Planet Coaster.
In a new developer dairy, the developer revealed that players who purchase the game on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 can upgrade to the Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 release, respectively, at no additional cost.
Players who own the game digitally simply need to log in to the relevant store on their next-gen console using the same account to access the game. While owners of a physical copy can download the game on their next-gen console by inserting their disc. However, this does mean that owners of the Xbox Series S or PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will not be able to upgrade their physical copy.
As for save data, Xbox players can transfer all of their progress and PlayStation players can bring over their parks by uploading them to the Frontier Workshop.
Planet Coaster: Console Edition is scheduled to release this holiday for Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
