Fortnite update brings back launch pad
Epic Games has pushed a new update live for Fortnite on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android.
The highlight of update 11.50 is the return of the launch pad, which was removed from the game with the release of Chapter 2 to reduce available mobility. For those who are unfamiliar with the trap, the launch pad allows players to bounce high into the air and redeploy their glider.
Today’s update also introduces the Chaos physics system Unreal Engine upgrade. The developer previously announced that it will only be rolling out the changes to “a small group of players” while it works on ironing out any bugs.
“At launch, our goal is to ensure that Fortnite still feels like what you would expect,” Epic wrote. “We’ll be closely monitoring your feedback from the in-game Feedback tool for any issues you may be experiencing.”
Fortnite players can also expect a new event to begin very soon. The developer isn’t ready to share the details just yet, but it is presumably the previously teased Birds of Prey crossover.
Finally, Epic offered an update on outfits and back blings for Save the World. According to the developer, players can expect these new customization options to arrive alongside update 12.10.
