Fortnite update adds Covert Cavern POI, brings back Heavy Shotgun
The latest update for Fortnite includes a new point of interest, a returning weapon, and new masks for Haven.
Starting things off is the Covert Cavern POI. This high-tech area can be found deep inside the mountains north of Camp Cuddle and is home to a mythic version of the Stinger SMG. The upgraded version of the weapon has more power, but also more recoil.
In addition to the new POI, Epic Games has brought back the Heavy Shotgun. However, it isn’t the same as players remember it. The Chapter 3 Season 1 version of the weapon is now a single slug shotgun with a longer range. The Heavy Shotgun can be found on the ground and in chests and Supply Drops.
Finally, players can now begin unlocking new masks for Haven. To do so, collect feathers scattered around the map to unlock special quests in the Haven’s Masks section of the Battle Pass tab. Complete each quest to get the corresponding mask.
Fortnite is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile.
