Follow Fernando Alonso on a hot lap in this F1 2022 gameplay trailer

Codemasters has released a new gameplay trailer for F1 2022.

In the trailer below we get to see Fernando Alonso on a hot lap around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which is the home of the Spanish Grand Prix. In this year’s entry, the track has been updated with a new layout for turn 10, offtrack areas for turns 10-14, and new sausage kerbs around the circuit.

The developer also confirmed changes to the Albert Park Circuit in Australia and Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi to match the real tracks. The following changes have been made:

Australia

  • The Albert Park Circuit has been remodelled using LIDAR data, boasting more detailed height and camber. Outfield areas see walls repositioned, and kerbs replaced with new photogrammetry versions. There are multiple changes to the circuit with a new layout to turns 1, 3, 6, 8/9 (replacing the chicane), 11, 12, and 13

Abu Dhabi

  • Yas Marina’s turn 5, where Verstappen overtook Hamilton to secure the 2021 Formula One World Championship, has changed with the chicane removed before the hairpin. The hairpin has also come forward adding more runoff. The turn 9 chicane and 90-degree turns are now a single cambered turn, replacing turns 11-14. Lastly, turns 13-15 have been rounded off around the hotel to allow cars to follow more closely.

The upcoming entry features the redesigned cars and rules changes for the 2022 season, adaptive AI, VR support on PC, and F1 Life, a new customizable hub that lets players show off their collection of supercars, clothing, and accessories.

F1 2022 launches July 1st for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
