FIFA 23 gameplay trailer goes over changes made to Pro Clubs
The latest gameplay deep dive for FIFA 23 focuses on the changes made to Pro Clubs.
To start with, Pro Clubs and Volta will have a shared progression system in this year’s title. In FIFA 23, regardless of whether players are enjoying Volta (Arcades, Squads, and Battles) or Pro Clubs (Drop-Ins, League, Cup, and Friendly Matches) they will be earning Seasonal Points (SP) to unlock new customization options for their Pro Player.
Players can also earn Volta Coins based on their performance in matches across both modes, which can be spent in the Volta Shop. However, EA notes that not all items in the shop can be used in both modes.
In Pro Clubs, players can unlock new Tattoos, Facial Accessories, Boots, Hair Styles, and Facial Hair customization options. While in Volta, players can expect “full costumes, neon clothing, and face paint.”
In addition to the progression changes, Pro Clubs in FIFA 23 features 66 new skill games that will offer Player Growth XP, shorter Drop-In Matches, and four new Perks. A brief rundown of each Perk, courtesy of EA, can be found below:
Attacking Perks
- Poacher – Increases your all-round finishing (including boosts to Volleys, Finishing, and Heading Accuracy) when inside the box.
Chance Creation Perks
- Light Passes – Increases your teammates’ ability to trap and control your passes.
Defensive Perks
- Interceptor – Improves your ability to intercept & disrupt your opposition’s passes & shots when defending and in close proximity to the ball.
- Chase Down – Increases your pace when defending immediately following a loss of possession. The perk will deactivate after 40 in-game seconds if you have not regained possession.
FIFA 23 launches September 30th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
