Epic Games Store free games now require two-factor authentication
Epic Games has announced that players will require two-factor authentication on their account to claim free games from the Epic Games Store.
From now until May 21st, Epic “will periodically require two-factor authentication prior to claiming free games on the Epic Games Store.” According to the developer, this change has been made “in an effort to encourage our players to take steps to strengthen their Epic account security.”
Players can activate two-factor authentication in their Epic Games Account settings. A full guide detailing how to enable it can be found here.
PC owners can currently claim a free copy of For The King until tomorrow, April 30th, from the Epic Games Store. After this, Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Crashlands will be free to download.
