Elden Ring hotfix nerfs game-breaking buff it added with last patch
Elden Ring‘s 1.07 patch signaled a massive shift for the game by separating PvE and PvP balance. Unfortunately, it also broke the PvP meta by making one Ash of War way too strong.
As succinctly summarized by Kotaku, patch 1.07 inadvertently made the Endure Ash of War a game-breaking meta choice for PvP players. If an invader popped Endure, it basically became impossible to stagger them.
Thankfully for Elden Ring‘s PvP players, FromSoftware has quickly responded with a hotfix that almost exclusively targets Endure. Patch 1.07.1 shortens the effect duration of the Ash of War. According to the patch notes, “adjustments made in patch 1.07 had a greater impact on the game balance than expected.”
The hotfix also targets the Inescapable Frenzy incantation, which did not see the intended benefits of the last patch. FromSoft also notes that the Black Blade incantation is “currently missing its follow up attack when cast from the left hand,” but assures players that it’s working on a fix.
Elden Ring is available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
