Dying Light 2 takes ‘at least 500 hours’ to fully complete
Update (01/10/2022 12:23PM PST): Techland has clarified its claim of “500 hours to complete the game” to offer up a more reasonable—and less life-destroying—estimate on what it’ll take to finish Dying Light 2 Stay Human.
According to the new tweet, it’ll take around 20 hours to complete the main story, 80 hours to “finish the story and all of the side questions,” with that 500 hour mark then coming if you want to “max out the game with all main and side quests, choices and endings, checking every place on the map, every dialogue and finding every collectible.”
Original Story: Techland has revealed that players looking to “fully complete” Dying Light 2 Stay Human will need to set aside “at least 500 hours” of their time.
However, in a follow-up tweet, the developer explained that beating the story and side quests as well as doing “a lot of exploring” only takes around 100 hours. The 500 hours is for players who want to “max out the game” by finishing all the quests and endings while exploring every part of the world.
“500 hours is related to maxing out the game – finishing all the quests, endings, and exploring every part of the world, but a regular player should finish the story + side quests and do quite a lot of exploring in less than 100 hours, so don’t worry,” Techland said.
Last week, the developer shared a new video for the game that went over the skill trees that will be available in the game. Players can progress in either the combat or parkour trees by performing actions and completing quests to unlock abilities.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human launches February 4th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch (Cloud), and Windows PC.
