Dirt 5 update introduces cross-platform matchmaking and ghost lap times
Codemasters has delivered the Red Bull Revolution update for Dirt 5 which includes new features, liveries, and more.
The highlight of today’s update is the introduction of cross-platform matchmaking. Following the update, players on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC searching in open lobbies will be able to compete in both racing and party modes. The developer has also added the community-requested ghost lap times for Gate Crasher and Time Trial events.
In addition to the above, wet and stormy weather conditions are now available to select in Playgrounds and the Red Bull arch has also been added to the mode.
Finally, new Reb Bull liveries have been added for the Audi S1 EKS RX Quattro, MINI John Cooper Work Buggy by X-raid, Peugeot 3008 DKR Maxi, Volkswagen Race Touareg 3, and the Peugeot 208 WRX.
“We’re delighted to continue evolving DIRT 5 in new and exciting ways, in particular with the addition of cross-platform matchmaking,” Robert Karp, DIRT 5 development director at Codemasters, said. “We’ve often wondered which platform’s players are the quickest head-to-head – now we’ll finally have that answer!”
Dirt 5 is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
