DiRT 5 announced with debut trailer
During today’s episode of Inside Xbox, Codemasters officially unveiled DiRT 5, the next entry in its long-running DiRT series.
“For a while now, our dedicated development team in Cheshire, UK has been under the hood of this machine, turning a concept into reality,” Chris Groves, social and community manager at Codemasters wrote on Xbox Wire. “Well, gaming reality. You get what I mean. That concept? To make the boldest, bravest, most stylish off-road racing game ever made, where intense, competitive action is just the beginning of what blows you away in Dirt 5.”
According to the developer, the upcoming entry will be “bigger, in all possible ways.” One example is Career Mode, which will feature a “star-studded cast” led by Troy Baker and Nolan North, as well as “decision-based changes and a proper narrative.”

Codemasters also revealed that DiRT 5 will feature a livery editor, an in-race Photo Mode, 12-player online multiplayer, and split-screen multiplayer for up to four players. In addition to these features, it was mentioned in a post-show interview that the game will give players the choice between 4K/60 FPS and a 120 FPS option.
DiRT 5 is scheduled to launch October 2020 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versions of the game are also in development, but a release window was not mentioned.
