Destiny 2’s Solstice of Heroes event returns next week

Destiny 2’s Solstice of Heroes event will return to the game next week, Bungie has confirmed.

The event will run from August 11th through September 8th and offer players the chance to return to the European Aerial Zone (EAZ). The EAZ is a three-player matchmade activity that tasks players with exploring the zone, taking out enemies and bosses, and collecting treasure chests. The more bosses defeated, the more rewards available.

As with previous years, players will start the event with Rare armor that can be upgraded to a Majestic Legendary Set by eliminating enemies of the featured element. Once players reach Majestic they can upgrade the armor again to Magnificent by completing the following objectives:

  • Complete a Nightfall Ordeal on the Master difficulty.
  • Complete a Nightmare Hunt.
  • Complete Pit of Heresy.
  • Win seven Trials of Osiris matches. (Not on a single Passage)
  • Complete a Tier 5 Altar of Sorrow three times.

Completing these objectives unlocks a white glow for the armor and also the option to purchase a Universal Ornament set from the Eververse that will change the armor glow to match the subclass equipped. A fourth glow based on the new Statis subclass will be added with the release of Beyond Light.

“One of our goals with the Solstice of Heroes armor was to improve the experience of earning over previous years,” Bungie explained in a blog post. “There won’t be any major armor updates, so once you earn your Majestic set it will be relevant up until next year’s event. The Elemental glows being made into Universal Ornaments will ensure you can use them on any of your high stat armor going forward.”

Finally, the Eververse will be stocked with new items to purchase for Silver and Bright Dust.
