Cyberpunk 2077’s next Night City Wire debuts next week

The official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter has announced that the second Night City Wire episode will stream on Monday, August 10th at 9 a.m. PT on Twitch.

The episode will go into more detail about the game’s lifepaths, weapons, and “Refused’s transformation into SAMURAI!”

Lifepaths seem to mean the three main starting points that you can choose for your V: Corpo, Street Kid, or Nomad. Corpos start as members of one of Night City’s major corporations, Street Kids start as Night City locals, and Nomads start as travelers on the outskirts of the city. So far, we’ve seen how these different choices play out in the very early stages of the game, but we haven’t seen how they may impact later storylines and role-playing decisions.

We’ve also seen a handful of different weapons, at least in gunfights, but we haven’t gotten much info about weapon customization, so hopefully we’ll see a little more about that.

Lastly, Refused is a Swedish punk band that is featured in the game as Night City’s most popular musical act, Samurai. So apparently we’ll get a look at the band in skin-tight mo-cap suits, playing songs that were written for the game.

The previous Night City Wire revealed an extended look at the opening missions of the game, as well as debuting Cyberpunk 2077‘s Braindancing feature, which lets you relive the memories of other characters at specific parts in the game’s story. It’s still unclear exactly how deep this system will go, but it was certainly one of the more intriguing moments of the June stream.

Cyberpunk 2077 is launching on November 19th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It’s also coming to Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, and players who purchase the game for current-gen hardware can upgrade to it to the next-gen version for free within the same console family.
