Cyberpunk 2077’s last Night City Wire debuts new gameplay trailer

Cyberpunk 2077 is less than a month away (at least for now), but CD Projekt Red still treated us to one more episode of Night City Wire and a new gameplay trailer that does a good job at setting the stage.

The fifth episode of Night City Wire focused on Keanu Reeves’ performance as rockerboy-activist Johnny Silverhand, who’s hellbent on taking down the corpos that trapped his digital soul in a computer chip; the JALI technology that CDPR is using for lip-syncing its characters in 10 different languages at launch; and the genre-bending soundtrack.

It also gave us more details about the kinds of digital and in-game awards that players will be able to unlock in the game. Beyond the goodies that come with every copy of the game, including a digital comic book, you can also unlock in-game items by connecting the game to your GOG account, including a “Wolf School” leather jacket for futuristic Geralt cosplayers.

Players who own The Witcher games or Gwent will get additional rewards upon connecting their accounts, and that goes the other way: If you connect your GOG account and play Cyberpunk 2077, then you can also unlock in-game rewards for Gwent.

The star of the episode, however, was the five-minute gameplay trailer that sets up the world of Cyberpunk 2077 and how players will interact with it. Most of this was already known, but if you skipped the last few trailers, watching this one is a good way to catch up.

Cyberpunk 2077 launches on December 10th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Google Stadia. The game will also run on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, with a dedicated next-gen version still in the works.
