Cyberpunk 2077 Stadia release may not be there at launch
The good new is that one of this year’s biggest gaming releases, CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077, is still set for release on Google Stadia.
The bad news is that, unlike the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game, it seems like the Stadia release won’t be launching alongside them this September.
Earlier today on the studio’s website, a press release was published covering a lot of uneventful business-related elements of Cyberpunk 2077 and its upcoming release. However, about halfway down, we then get this:
“Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on 17 September 2020 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. By the end of the year the game will also make its debut on Google Stadia.”
Interestingly, the press release has since been pulled—possibly because either CD Projekt Red or Google didn’t want that detail revealed just yet. (An archived version of the press release can be seen here.)
So, for Stadia players out there waiting for CD Projekt Red’s massive near-future cyberpunk adventure, be ready to potentially wait a bit longer.
