Cross-platform play now live for PUBG on console
PUBG Corp. has released update 4.3 for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, bringing with it support for cross-platform play.
Following the update, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players can now be matched together. A players’ platform will be displayed via an icon in the loot box, when spectating, and on status messages. Cross-platform matchmaking can be disabled in the settings menu.
Also introduced with this update is the Survival Mastery system. This new system is a companion to Weapon Mastery and rewards players for non-lethal actions, such as looting, using items, and reviving teammates. Read more about this new system here.
Finally, today’s update adds the DBS to Care Packages. The DBS is a “double barrel pump-action bullpup shotgun” that holds up to 14 rounds. It can be equipped with a Holographic sight, a Red Dot Sight, and 2x to 6x Scopes, and has a maximum effective range of 100 meters.
