Cities: VR trailer shows how city building works in virtual reality, confirms release date
Fast Travel Games has shared a new trailer for its VR version of Cities: Skylines, titled Cities: VR, and also confirmed the game will release on April 28th.
The latest trailer for the game offers a walkthrough of how players will be able to plan, build, and run their cities in virtual reality. Players can draw roads with the pointer, place down buildings, and paint housing, retail, and industrial areas.
As in the original Cities: Skylines, players will also be managing and running their cities as they decide on taxation, budgets, and more. In VR, this is done by a new radial menu and a series of floating option screens. The UI has been completely rebuilt for VR.
“When we got the opportunity to reimagine Cities: Skylines for VR, we knew we had to jump at the opportunity,” Erik Odeldahl, Creative Director of Fast Travel Games, said. “We’ve taken heavy inspiration from what the teams at Colossal Order and Paradox Interactive have created over the last seven years. We think that Cities: VR will be a great introduction to this franchise for new players, as well as a compelling new interpretation for Cities: Skylines veterans.”
Cities: VR is scheduled to launch on April 28th for Meta Quest 2 headsets.
