Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War update adds WMD map, new weapon

Update: Treyarch has delayed the release of the WMD multiplayer map “until a future update.” The Vargo 52 assault rifle and Tracer Pack: Ferro Fury Reactive Mastercraft Bundle are available now.

Original Story: Treyarch has announced a surprise update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

This new update brings with it a remastered version of the WMD multiplayer map from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops. The developer describes it as “a large Multiplayer map featuring a multitude of power positions throughout its interior and exterior spaces.”

“Expect a lot of action around the central Production Facility and bring backup when navigating the treacherous roads. Climb just about anything and everything to get the most out of this map, as verticality is the name of the game here,” Treyarch added.

Joining the map is the new Vargo 52 assault rifle, which is said to offer “good damage at mid-range with a fast fire rate.” Players can unlock the weapon through multiplayer by dealing 1,000 damage with assault rifles in 15 different matches or through Zombies by eliminating 750 enemies with an assault rifle that has been Pack-a-Punched three times.

Players who do not wish to wait to unlock the weapon can purchase the new “Tracer Pack: Ferro Fury Reactive Mastercraft” Bundle. The bundle includes the “Ferrofluid” Assault Rifle Blueprint, “Viscosideath” LMG Blueprint, “Liquid Metal” SMG Blueprint, “Bullet Magnet” Charm, “Cranial Magnetism” animated Calling Card, and more.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
