Borderlands 3 update kicks off Broken Hearts Day event, increases level cap
Gearbox Software has pushed a new update live for Borderlands 3 that activates a Valentine’s Day-themed event, increases the level cap, and more.
For the next couple of weeks, players will find hearts floating above enemies that offer buffs and loot when shot. In addition, shooting these hearts will help Maurice understand humanity a little better and unlock some new themed loot in the process, such as the Terminal Polyaimorous and Wedding Invitation weapons.
Today’s update also increases the maximum level cap to 53, adds the option to skip cutscenes, and allows players to toggle off seasonal events if they do not wish to participate.
Another new feature being introduced is the option to turn off individual Guardian Rank perks or the entire system. Following the update, the Guardian Rank system will be off by default, so players will have to go into the options and re-enable it.
Other changes include the introduction of True Takedown Mode, stability and performance improvements, and content parity for the Stadia version. Read the full patch notes here.
Borderlands 3 is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Google Stadia.
