Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s Roguelike mode replaced with Randomizer
The $5 million Roguelike Kickstarter stretch goal for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is no longer happening, according to 505 Games senior community manager Jason Ryan.
In a Kickstarter update, Ryan explained that “the code that was created early in the game’s development is not currently compatible with this type of gameplay.” As a result, the mode is being replaced by a new game mode called Randomizer.
“We know this is a mode that many of you were eagerly anticipating and we apologize that we will not be able to make it happen as planned,” he wrote. “We don’t want to leave a hole in the roster, so we have developed a new game mode called ‘Randomizer’ to take its place. Randomizer will launch with Zangetsu and be available for free.”
In the new Randomizer mode, players will select up to eight different gameplay parameters that will be randomized, such as items, enemy drops, shops, and more. After selecting the elements to be randomized, a seed will be generated that can be shared with other players. While playing through the mode, a timer will track players’ progress and display the completion time at the end.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
