Blizzard Arcade Collection now available on PC and consoles

Blizzard is celebrating its 30th anniversary with the Blizzard Arcade Collection, which is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The collection bundles together Original and Definitive Editions of The Lost Vikings, Rock N Roll Racing, and Blackthorne. These games feature the ability to rewind gameplay by up to 10 seconds, the option to save anywhere (except in Rock N Roll Racing Definitive Edition), and custom key mapping. The Original Editions of The Lost Vikings and Blackthorne also feature a “Watch Mode,” which lets players watch a playthrough of the game and take control at any point.

In addition to the above, the Definitive Edition of The Lost Vikings features a “superior audio and visual experience,” extra stages and cutscenes, and support for up to three players in co-op. While the Definitive Edition of Rock N Roll Racing includes environmental effects, four-player local multiplayer, 384 track variations, 16:9 support, and new songs. The Definitive Edition of the final game in the collection, Blackthorne, features a fog of war map that uncovers as players explore the level.

The Lost Vikings, Rock N Roll Racing, and Blackthorne ultimately made it possible for us to go on to create Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft, so we thought the Blizzard Arcade Collection would be a fun and fitting way to look back at our roots as a company,” J. Allen Brack, president of Blizzard Entertainment, said. “Many Blizzard gamers around the world fondly remember their time with these games and have often asked us to bring them back for modern platforms, so we’re thrilled to not only do so with this release, but to amp up the experience with new features and functionality available for the first time in each game.”

The Blizzard Arcade Collection is available now as part of The Celebration Collection, which contains a number of in-game items for Blizzard games, on PC and consoles. Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch owners can also purchase the collection on its own for $19.99.
