Hunt: Showdown update adds cross-platform play between consoles
Crytek has released a new update for Hunt: Showdown that introduces cross-platform play to the game.
Following the update, players can find partners from either Xbox One or PlayStation 4 when searching for a random partner. However, invites currently only work for players on the same platform.
“Teaming up with a player using the same console shows the corresponding platform’s icon, while grouping with a player using the other platform shows a controller icon,” the developer added.
The update also adds sunset as a time of day option along with two new AI variants: the Grunt Doctor, who deals poison damage and drops a medical kit, and the Concertina Armored, who causes bleeding damage.
Other changes include an improved death screen and lobby, a new legendary hunter, and the addition of two new weapon variants: the Martini-Henry IC1 Marksman and the Mosin-Nagant M1891 Obrez Drum. Read the full patch notes here.
